Massive Gold Reserves Worth $636 Billion Found in Tarbela in Pakistan

A remarkable discovery has been made in Pakistan — gold reserves estimated at $636 billion have been found in the soil of Tarbela Dam, according to Hanif Gohar, Chairman oAir Karachi Chairman and former FPCCI Vice President.

Gold Discovery in Tarbela Dam

Hanif Gohar revealed this discovery during a press conference at the Karachi Press Club. He stated that the findings had already been presented to the Chief of Army Staff, who responded positively after receiving a detailed briefing.

According to Gohar, divers collected multiple soil samples from inside the Tarbela Dam. These samples were then tested in laboratories, confirming traces of gold. Using the lab results, experts estimated the total value of gold reserves to be around $636 billion — an amount that, as Gohar claims, could potentially clear Pakistan’s entire national debt.

Proposal to WAPDA and Government Involvement

Gohar mentioned that he had offered WAPDA (Water and Power Development Authority) the opportunity to manage and execute the gold extraction project. However, if WAPDA does not take on the project, his company is ready to invest and carry out the process independently.

He also shared that his team has already consulted dredging experts from Holland, and held meetings with partners in Amsterdam and Canada. Gohar stated, “If the government allows us to proceed, we are fully prepared to begin this project immediately.”

Air Karachi’s Upcoming Operations

In addition to the gold discovery, Gohar announced that Air Karachi will officially start its domestic flight operations on March 23, using three to five Airbus aircraft. After a year of successful domestic operations, the airline plans to expand into international routes.

Future Construction and Economic Plans

Gohar also shared his company’s plan to build Hyderabad’s first four-star hotel on a five-acre plot. He emphasized that Pakistan’s economy cannot recover unless there is strong growth in the construction sector.

He concluded by noting that business activity in Karachi is currently slowing down, and urgent steps are needed to boost investment and development across the country.
